Associate Fellow at Al Sharq Forum. Mehmet Özkan previously worked as a researcher for the Foreign Policy Department at SETA Foundation. He was a Visiting Student at UPB-Medellin in Colombia in 2009; a Visiting Fellow at Institute for Defense and Security Analysis (IDSA) in New Delhi, India in 2010; and as a Visiting Researcher in Egypt at Cairo University during 2011. He is the author of “Foreign Policy After Tahrir Revolution” (2011). Among many others his articles appeared, in The Journal of Modern African Studies, Review of African Political Economy, Insight Turkey, Journal of International Development, and Journal of Global Analysis. He received his BA in International Relations at the Faculty of Political Science in Istanbul University; MA & MSc from University of Johannesburg in South Africa and Linkoping University in Sweden. Mehmet completed his PhD in Politics and International Studies at Seville University, Spain in 2013. Research Interests: Afro-Middle East and Latin America – Middle East relations.
